Better Together is a special prayer and mission campaign designed to help United Methodist congregations deepen their spiritual life and strengthen the Connection. This toolkit provides practical ways for churches to join together in prayer, partnership, and service—building relationships across the Conference while enriching both individual and collective faith.
Scripture reminds us that we are one body in Christ—many members, yet one whole. Each congregation, ministry, and mission holds unique gifts that contribute to the larger work of God’s love in the world. Across the New England Conference, more than 620 local churches and over 30 Advance Special missions and ministries embody this truth: organizations that serve children and youth, support the elderly, accompany those in poverty, and bring compassion to communities near and far.
Better Together helps us rediscover how these many parts connect. It offers tools and practices for churches to learn from one another, lift one another in prayer, and engage in shared acts of service that strengthen the body of Christ. By participating, congregations are invited to see their ministry as part of something larger—a movement of faith that grows stronger the more we work, serve, and pray together.
